Who We Are
As part of a population whose culture is being eroded at an alarmingly rapid pace, we felt — as individuals who have been connected to the food industry in very different ways — that we had a duty to uphold; to showcase our culinary culture (and its stories) to the world.
We cook the food in a manner that our ancestors would approve of, using ingredients like use real butter, organic eggs and locally-sourced produce from fellow Goans. Our food is centered around our core belief of being community focused. Our forefathers made everything from scratch, with helping hands from friends, family and neighbours; and we try to do the same wherever possible.
What We Do
414 is a heritage dining concept, where we attempt to keep the Luso-Goan aspects of our food habits alive. All our cooking is undertaken in the kitchen of our family home, which is approximately 475 years old. Most of the recipes that we recreate — and are inspired by — go back a minimum of four generations.
Every single dish is artisanally made, exclusively to order, and we don’t stock up on any pre-cooked items.
We work on a pre-booking basis, and we love introducing people to our food and culture. If you’re looking for food connected to heritage, you’re in the right place.
